Stand up for culture.  This hearing is an opportunity to demonstrate your support  for cultural activities in the state of New Mexico. Please join us as we recognize the impact of and advocate on behalf of:

·        Libraries
·        Arts
·        Preservation
·        Museums
·        Historic Sites
·        Archaeology

Committee starts at 1:30 pm. The Department of Cultural Affairs is 6th of 8 on the agenda.
The Committee tries to complete its work by 4:00 to return to the Floor. Suggested arrival time: 2:45 pm

Once again, except for SB 130, the General Appropriations Act, no legislation with substantive library content has been introduced.
SB 260 (Cervantes) is a proposal  that  “(a)ny authorization by the legislature to the state board of finance for the issuance of severance tax bonds for a specified capital project prior to the fifty-second legislature, first session (i.e, F Y 2013-14), that has not had bonds issued by January 1, 2017 shall be void on the effective date of this act.”

Once again, no local capital outlay projects have been posted on the website. The deadline for bill introductions is February 16.

There is no midday train going north.  The 508 leaves Belen at 8:04 am and lays over in Albuquerque from 8:42 am. The 510 train leaves downtown Albuquerque at 9:35 am, arriving in Santa Fe at 11:16 am.
Southbound, the 515 leaves Santa Fe at 4:15 pm, arriving at downtown Albuquerque at 5:50 pm and at Belen at 6:33 pm. The express 101 train leaves at 5:04 pm  and arrives at downtown Albuquerque at 6:25 pm.  The 517 leaves Santa Fe at 5:30 pm, arriving at downtown Albuquerque at 7:02 pm and at Belen at 7:42 pm.
Parking availability in the Capitol parking structure is likely to be better than in the morning.
